Living Well Sefton is supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, 10th May to 16th May 2021 in partnership with Sefton in Mind. Please support us by going for a walk in the week and let’s all Treasure Sefton!
Walk by yourself or with friends, family or colleagues. Checkout our daily fact about why walking is good for your mental health. We will share one fact a day using our social media platforms.
While you are out walking take time to look at what you can see. Sefton has many amazing places, and even in the most mundane of locations you can see beauty.
The image below was taken by a botanist in London who photographs plants growing on the streets, through cracks in the pavement, or along walls.
On your walk, why not take a moment to notice what intrigues you, what makes you smile.

Walking is good for your health in so many different ways it:
- Burns calories
- Strengthens the heart
- Can help lower your blood sugar
- Eases joint pain
- Boosts immune function
- Boosts your energy
- Improves your mood
- Helps you think creatively
Share your pictures of places or things you have seen in Sefton that make you smile. We hope to use the images you send to us in an exhibition later in the year. Send your photos to treasuresefton@seftoncvs.org.uk or post them on social media tagging @SeftonHSCForum
Please share and encourage others to take a Treasure Sefton Walk during Mental Health Awareness Week!
