A major new grant scheme aims to help to improve the health and wellbeing of Sefton residents.
The Community Champions Fund has been launched by Sefton CVS and Living Well Sefton in partnership with Sefton Council.
Sefton CVS Chief Executive, Angela White OBE, commented: “The focus of this fund is to improve the mental and physical wellbeing, and we are encouraging community groups to come forward with innovative projects to support local residents.”
The fund also aims to help people who are experiencing social isolation as a result of the pandemic, as well as residents with long-term health conditions, or having a learning or physical disability.
Living Well Sefton Programme Manager, Gemma Boardman, added: “The NHS has identified how some people are more at risk of developing complications if they contract Covid-19 and we hope the projects delivered through this fund will help reduce this risk while improving the health and wellbeing of local residents.”
Applicants can apply for grants of up to £2,500, and the deadline for applications is Friday 14th May at 5pm.
Sefton CVS are also pleased to offer a dedicated Community Champions Fund briefing session for local groups who are interested in applying;
