Sefton Community Learning Service have courses starting over the next couple of weeks. As more and more people have been furloughed or been made redundant, plus we are all spending more time at home, the service is offering courses to refresh skills or give the opportunity to try something different.

Need to refresh and update basic IT skills? Why not join the Introduction to Digital Passport course. Develop skills to support current or future job roles. Providing learning modules towards: Word processing, Email management and using the internet as a non- accredited course.
Course starts on Thursday 25th June between 10.30am and 12.30pm for 4 weeks. You will need access to a laptop/PC or tablet and have Wifi or internet access at home. Able to work at Entry Level 3 in maths and English to follow written and verbal instructions, take part in discussions and keep a record of completed activities. You should also be able to follow health and safety guidelines.
As it has now become mandatory to wear face masks on all public transport, why not make your own? The materials will be provided for you to make a mask at home, all you need to do is register your interest and arrange for your pack to be collected or delivered if shielding. The next session of Personal Face Mask Making is Monday 29th June (1-3pm).
If people are unsure if they can claim any benefits they can join the Universal Credit- How to Make a Claim course, running every Wednesday 10am-12pm or take time to learn all about Spreadsheets for Beginners course starts Tuesday 30th June, between 6pm and 8pm for 5 weeks. If you are thinking of setting up your own business or need to boost your business profile during lockdown join Digital Marketing on Wednesday 1st July 10am – 12noon.
Would you like to help a local charity? They desperately need bags for donated craft activities for vulnerable families. We provide the material for one bag per learner and you provide your time and sewing machines. All we ask is when completed, they are returned to our centre to donate to The Community Pantry, to fill and send out to families along with their food hampers. Making Craft Bags course starts Wednesday 1st July from 1-3pm. This will be online.
