Maghull residents are being invited to find out more about services provided by local voluntary, community and faith sector groups at an event in the town later this month.
Sefton CVS and Maghull Town Council are joining forces to run the free Community Marketplace event to raise awareness of the work of local groups and the volunteering opportunities they have available.
It will take place at Maghull Town Hall from 11am until 3pm on Thursday 26th September.
Robert Goux, of the Community Connectors team, a partner of Living Well Sefton, explained: “We hope that the Community Marketplace will showcase the amazing work that individuals and community groups are doing in Maghull.
“It will provide an opportunity for residents to find out more about what’s going on in their local area, from coffee mornings and creative groups to physical exercise and social events.”
As well as making people aware of new groups and activities they can take part in, the event also aims to raise awareness of local volunteering.
Rachael West, from Volunteer Centre Sefton, added: “We are looking forward to helping Maghull residents find out more about what volunteering is available near them.
“The Volunteer Centre will be on hand on the day to also talk about volunteering opportunities with other organisations unable to attend the event.”
Groups already confirmed to attend include Volunteer Centre Sefton, knitting and crocheting group Yarnagans, Maghull Chapel, Sefton Older Persons’ Forum, Maghull and Aughton Rotary, Ron’s Therapeutic Art Group and Lydiate Village Centre.
Other groups at the event will include Bootle Tool Shed, Maghull Homewatch, St Andrew’s Maghull, St Peter’s Maghull, St James’ Maghull and St Thomas’ Melling.
