Residents are being invited to come along to NHS Southport and Formby’s Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Annual General Meeting (AGM) where they will be able to browse a variety of stalls being hosted by local services as part of a health and wellbeing marketplace.
On Tuesday 10 September, the CCG is holding its combined ‘Big Chat’ and AGM event. It is an opportunity for local health bosses to showcase the CCG’s achievements from past the 12 months and ask attendees for their views about its forthcoming plans. The event will also focus on the recently published NHS Long Term Plan and how it will impact Sefton.
Dr Rob Caudwell, local GP and NHS Southport and Formby chair, said: “We are really proud of our work over the past year and want to share our achievements with our residents. As well as being a great opportunity for people to learn about the work we do, it is a chance for them to input into our work by giving their views about our plans for the year ahead.
“Ahead of the main programme, people will be able to spend some time browsing a marketplace with a range of health and wellbeing related stalls. It’ll showcase some of the fantastic services we have in Sefton and people will be able to find out more about what they do.”
Some of the services and organisations attending this year’s event include:
- Stroke Association
- Southport Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre
- Lancashire Care’s diabetes education team
- Healthwatch Sefton
- Active Sefton
In addition, there will be advice from the CCGs’ medicines management team, while iMerseyside will be showcasing some of the latest technological advances coming to GP practices in Sefton.
Rob added: “If you haven’t already done so, I would encourage you to register to come to the event. It will be incredibly informative and productive.”
The AGM will be taking place on Tuesday 10 September, 1pm to 4.30pm at The Bliss Hotel (formerly the Ramada Hotel) adjacent to Floral Hall on the waterfront in Southport, PR9 0DZ.
People are asked to register in advance by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 0151 317 8456.
