Southport Salvation Army is encouraging people to go along to a new free “friendship cafe” which starts on Sunday, July 7.

A range of activities, including games, singing and reminiscence, are on offer at the cafe on Shakespeare Street, Southport, from 1pm to 3pm every Sunday.

The cafe is there for those wanting to make new friends and will appeal to people living with dementia and their carers.

A spokesperson for Southport Salvation Army explains: “We aim to provide a warm, welcoming and relaxed environment for anyone looking for a bit of company.

“Why not give it a try? Come along, have a cuppa and a bite to eat. Meet new friends and receive the support you may need.”
