The Brighter Living Partnership, one of Living Well Sefton’s partners, is looking for volunteers to help with their popular weekly lunch club.
There is already a cook who caters for more than 20 people who go along to the Southport Community Centre for a two-course lunch, as well as other support in the kitchen.
What we are looking for are friendly volunteers to greet and serve those who arrive on a Thursday looking to enjoy the atmosphere just as much as the home-cooked meal.
Volunteering is a great way to make you feel better about yourself. You get to: connect with your local community, make new friends, help others. In return, the benefits to you include: feeling happier, more confident, having a sense of purpose.
Angela Bedford, who creates the popular lunches each week, has volunteered with Brighter Living for 15 months and says: “I love preparing and cooking the lunch club meals because I see how much people enjoy eating them, the chatter from everyone talking, the banter and it makes me feel good because I have helped to do that.”
If you enjoy helping out and meeting new people then the Brighter Living Partnership want to hear from you. Call the team on 01704 517818 and ask to speak to Matty.
